Sex and Relationships Education (SRE)
The school considers Sex and Relationships Education to be key to the safeguarding of children. Pupils need to learn how to keep themselves safe from harm and exploitation, as well as how to build respectful relationships with all.
However, the governors and staff also believe that children should be introduced to all such concepts at an age appropriate level. We follow the NYCC PSHCE guidance, full details can be found in our SRE policy and SRE Framework.
In Years 5 and 6, children will learn about puberty and the ways in which their body will change over time. We use the 'Busy Bodies' resources to introduce this topic, which parents can review by clicking here.
